Steven B. Kushnick, P.E., Inc. provides engineering services. Most work is for turbines (jet engines, power turbines, turbocompressors, combustion turbines, and steam turbines), but some is for reciprocating engines, and reciprocating compressors.
We provide mechanical engineering, heat transfer and thermodynamic analysis, and hardware procurement. Typical engineering involves mechanical design, reverse engineering, performance optimization, economic studies, or failure analysis. We provide third-party and litigation support, including expert witness and expert consultant services.
Our clients include electric power utilities, independent power producers (IPP's), petrochemical companies, process plants, gas turbine overhaul shops, combustion turbine operators, and platform operators.
We have provided mechanical engineering over the years on equipment manufactured by ABB, Allison, Cooper, Coppus, Dresser-Rand, General Electric, General Motors, Hispano Suiza, Ingersoll-Rand, MAN GHH, Pratt & Whitney, Rolls Royce, Siemens, Solar, Turbo Power & Marine, Westinghouse, and others.
Steven Kushnick has been principal engineer of the company since January 1996. Prior experience of Mr. Kushnick includes mechanical design of military fighter aircraft jet engines for Pratt & Whitney (nine years), consulting engineering experience at a small consulting group (seven years), engineering training at Howmet Turbine Components Corporation, and apprentice work at a small machine shop. He graduated with honors from Boston University College of Engineering in 1980.
